**Employee Health Insurance Information**
**Date:July 28th, 2025**

Since we were unable to hold a company meeting last week, please read the information below in regards to our health insurance provided by Kaiser. The plans and rates are also attached.

This information is being provided to everyone, regardless of if you are enrolled in our health coverage or not. If you are not enrolled, and don’t wish to be, then you can likely ignore this information. If you would like to enroll in our health plan, please contact Jason or Becky by July 31st to get signed up.
Health Insurance costs continue to rise. As always, Rose City is sharing in the additional cost of the higher rates. Please see the attached information concerning the new rates. Most employees have Kaiser Plan K 5000, if you keep this plan, your costs will increase a little more than $30 per paycheck pre-tax.

We do have the new option of another plan that is actually cheaper than the existing plan, it would be roughly $55 per paycheck less. It is know as a HDHP. This means High-Deductible Health Plan. The downside of this plan is that you are essentially self-insured for the first $4,000 of healthcare you need per year. You would be able to save roughly $1,430 per year pre-tax. However, if you go to urgent care, instead of a $50 copay, you’ll likely be receiving a bill for $200-$500 depending on what you need. Broken bones or serious illness would be quite a bit more, with a maximum out of pocket per year of $7,000. You can also start a Health Savings Account (HAS) that lets you put money into it pre-tax so any payments you do have to make are with tax free dollars. If you’d like to ask additional questions about this plan, please see Jason in the front office.
Unfortunately, this plan just became available, so this information is coming to you later than preferred. If you’d like to make any changes to your plan, please see Becky or Jason by Thursday the 31st. Thank you.
